Publishing the revised ANFREL Election Monitoring Handbook for National Election Observer Groups in Myanmar targeting 2020 Myanmar Elections (September 2019) [1]

ANFREL published the revised handbook on election monitoring for National Election Monitoring Groups in Myanmar in September 2019.
The revisions were based on the inputs gathered from two consultation meetings with CSOs and consultations with ANFREL's network of Domestic Election Monitoring Organizations across Asia.
The handbook serves as a primary guide for election monitoring groups to conduct more comprehensive election monitoring missions. It provides a set of widely accepted guidelines for election monitoring and standard methodologies.
The handbook covers the following topics: Universal Principles and Electoral Democracy Norms; Understanding Myanmar's Government, Electoral System, Laws and Regulation; Principles of Election Monitoring; Election Monitoring Methodology; Assessing Elections: A Comprehensive Guide.
ANFREL produced 150 copies of the English version of the handbook and 800 copies of the Burmese-language version of the handbook. The handbook will be distributed to different national, regional, state-level and grassroots-level election monitoring organizations and their observers who will observe the elections.
